Pom Pom Calavera, Bichines BJD 

Pom Pom prototype is original designed and hand sculpted by Lean. 
“Bichines” BJD are a line of little animals in resin, with the same body called “Bichín” line.

It’s a YOSD (Tiny doll) BJD (Ball Jointed Doll). Of about 9,8 inches (25 cm) tall with the rabbit ears.

This special creature is inspired in the Mexican folklore, in the festivity ‘Día de los Muertos’ or ‘Day of the Dead’.

A common symbol of the holiday is the skull (in Spanish ‘Calavera’), represented in Mexican masks, make up and candies. They have colorful designs, adorned with hearts and flowers as roses, sunflowers or Mexican cempoalxóchitl or ‘flor de muerto’ (flower of the dead). As with other aspects of the Day of the Dead festival, the Calaveras are generally depicted as joyous rather than mournful figures. During these days, people do all kinds of candy with this skull shape such as sugar or chocolate skulls, that can be given to both the living and the dead.

Some people believe possessing a Day of the Dead items can bring good luck. Many people have dolls of the dead or Calaveras to carry with them, to give them luck the whole year.
